After a Hangover: Beauty Tips for Women

A night of tying one on can really take a toll on a woman’s face. If you’ve decided to go out drinking for the night, the next morning’s hangover can wreak havoc on your appearance. Below are some simple women’s beauty tips to beat the ‘hangover face’ that is inevitable after a round of drinking.

Hangover Beauty Tip #1

Getting drunk causes the body to dehydrate and this is the number one reason you wake with a hangover the next morning. Dehydration is murder to skin cells. To help prevent the face from drying with the hangover dehydration, load your face up with moisturizing cream before you do to bed that night. You’re already drunk, so putting silly cream all over your face while you sleep probably won’t bother you at all.

Hangover Beauty Tip #2

Again, a hangover is caused mostly be being dehydrated, so drink lots of water. Water is really good for the skin even when you are not drunk, but when you have a hangover, drinking water can not only help you feel better faster but it can help re-hydrate your skin too, improving your appearance.

Hangover Beauty Tip #3

When you wake from a hangover, you may notice puffiness on your face, particularly around your eyes. Soaking teabags in cool water and applying them to your eyes for a few minutes can help reduce the puffiness. Using cucumber slices can also help reduce puffiness, but it takes longer to work. One of the quickest ways to get rid of hangover eye puffiness is to apply a small amount of Preparation H to the puffy area around the eye, careful to avoid direct contact with the eye.

Hangover Beauty Tip #4

Visine gets the red out! – at least so their tagline says. Using a red removing eye drop like Visine can help brighten the whites of the eye and remove the redness from those puffy eyes that was caused by your hangover, greatly improving your appearance.

Hangover Beauty Tip #5

Don’t apply a lot of make up the day of a hangover. Matte lipsticks, matte powders and foundations all can dry the already dehydrated hangover skin and will give the face a ‘cakey’ dry appearance. If you’re suffering a hangover, try to wear only a little mascara and wet lip color that day of the hangover for a better appearance overall.

This is, by no means, an article endorsing drinking and receiving hangovers. Truth is, if you drink too much on a regular basis, the alcohol consumption is going to take a toll on your skin that these hangover beauty tips are not going to help you change. These hangover beauty tips can be used only for the occasional indiscretion that results in a horrendous hangover and you need or want to look your best the next day.

As always, if you drink, don’t drive! Play it safe. A hangover takes a toll on the body, but not nearly as much as a drunk driving crash in a car would.
